Toot . . . Toot . . . Screech!!

This year, the fourth graders learned how to play the recorder. Any parent that has had to endure a child practicing recorder would say that it is painful. Oh my ears!!

Dalton's music teacher created a fun way to help the kids want to practice at home by creating a program that ran like that of karate. Students would pass off certain songs and achieve certain belts or bead colors. Dalton made it to the red belt. Which was a great feat for him since he HATED the recorder almost as much as I did. :)

All in all, he performed wonderfully, had a speaking part, and is almost ready to graduate out of elementary school and head to the middle school. YIKES!
