Relay for Life

June 26th was Elko's Relay for Life. My Bunco group decided that we were going to form a team called "Bunco Invasion." We sold baked goods, had small games, and walked the relay. Sandy was our captain and boy did she do a great job with the Hawaiian theme. You rocked it Sandy and I promise next year I will be more help!

Each of us there, had been touched in some way by cancer. Doris lost her husband Bill. Dayna fought the fight herself. Me, I was walking for my Mom, Drew's Dad Joe, my Nana Ida, and my Aunt Joanne. To honor these amazing people and many others, the track glowed with candle luminaries. At dawn the luminaries were lit and the living walked among them. Tears filled my eyes as I walked by those that I had come to honor.

It is my hope that we each can give a little more to fight for the cause either in prayer, service, or with donations. This year Elko raised over $60,000!
