I was chomping at the bit to get to Fallon to see my mother for the first time since we found out that she had breast cancer. It was just so good to wrap my arms around her and squeeze her and to feel her close to me! She on the other hand was very excited to get to see Anthon for the first time.
I am glad to say that my mother's double mastectomy went very well. The sisters and I were so worried about how mom was going to handle anesthesia because her past bouts with it haven't gone to well, but mom showed us all! She came out with wonderful color and was coherent all the way. She was able to come home the very next day. We are now waiting to hear what we should do next like chemo and hormone blocking treatments.
Through this all, I am so grateful for the amazing faith that my mother has. She knows without doubt that she is a daughter of a Heavenly Father and that through him anything is possible. I am grateful for her for teaching me that there is someone always with us and He will guide us and walk beside us every day of our lives. She is truly an amazing woman and I am so grateful to have her!
Easter was great. The Easter Bunny had allot on his plate and therefore didn't make the kids baskets this year. He opted for store bought ones that were easy to transport and no thought what really left to them. However, mommy misses having the spiritual aspect in the basket that the Easter Bunny usually does.
Any who . . . we had yummy dinners at Aunt Rene's and Uncle John's and even ventured out to see the Easter Bunny at the hospital Easter egg hunt. BrookLynn was not too happy with this endeavour though. She started screaming bloody murder when the Easter Bunny came close to her. I am not sure how she will handle Disneyland later in the year. She has quite the aversion to costumes!
It was great seeing Megan and her newest addition Corinne. My new little niece is not that little, but very much the cutie who already loves to talk your ear off. I love that coo-ing sound!
