I did say 3!!
We are lucky enough to get together with Drew's brother Dennis, his wife Vera, and their kiddos since they moved to Elko. This year we were additionally blessed to have Nana Doris among us again. A good time was had by all. The Christmas Eve broad is getting larger with the additions of some significant others and new little cousins to play with. All fun!
Since daddy had to work Christmas (again!) we headed to the firehouse for our Prime Rib dinner and a bit of Rock Band. That is the new item on the long want list of my kiddos. They had a ball hamming it up with Firemen Hense and Frandsen. I am still trying to digest the heaping of dessert that Doris plopped on my plate. Anthon doesn't need that much and neither do I. :) I couldn't finish it . . . sorry Carrie & Stacy!
Saturday was spent with the long awaiting of Drew's Dad and step mom Barb who actually made it back to Winnemucca for Christmas. We are thrilled to say that Dad is cancer free and is all done with chemo! They will be heading back to Arizona to be close to the doctors, pool, golf, and sun! The kids highlight was the crab and of course the spoiling that Dad and Barb do. YOU TWO!!!
The de Arrieta kids were all smiles with the loot that poured in from loved ones and Santa. Dalton received tons of Legos and has been busy building his Star Wars Empire and fire trucks. Xandry got her digital camera which she took many pictures throughout the holiday as well as has been playing her DS that she got. Brook well, she is once again a mommy to many babies. She is still strolling them around, dressing them, feeding them, and changing their diapers. It is cute. The BIG surprise was from Jim . . . a hot pink kid Arctic Cat snowmobile! All the kiddos, minus Brook have been having fun with that one. Poor Brook has been sick.
I was grateful when Dalton and Xandry were asked to give talks in church on Sunday about how does your family remember Jesus Christ. It was nice to once again talk (we have talked allot this month) about the true meaning of Christmas and the reasons for the presents.
We hope that your Christmas was filled with love and the true meaning of Christmas too!
