Spring Break was filled with a trip to Tuscan, Arizona with a fun stay at Grandpa Joe's and Grandma Barb's house. They are Snow Birds and love the sun when it is winter. I have to say that I can't blame them!
It all started with a surprise at Ely's McDonald's. We ran into the Bates clan. It was a good little shocker and a great pit stop for us all.
Our first day there was spent basking at the pool, learning to swim for Xandry, and being fed good ol' de Arrieta cooking. We were spoiled rotten! I loved it, because it was actually a place where I didn't feel like I was on pins or needles. The kids could make a mess and I didn't feel like I was offending anyone. They understood that it would be cleaned up. We all had an enjoyable time.
Some of the other highlights were when we went to FunLand, which had an arcade, miniture golf, race cars, and bumper boats. Dalton made a friend right off and went on a couple of rides. Xandry finally got brave enough to drive the kid race car, and Brook well . . . she felt a little jipped with it all. However, it was off to Peter Piper's Pizza and she had some fun on the firetruck and icecream truck that they had there. While eating pizza, we were able to meet up with some of Drew's college friends Eddie, Cindy, and their three kiddos.
There was more swimming of couse, but the Reid Zoo was the big hit again. They added some animals this year. Brook was really cute this time. She really loved all of the animals. The high light though was that Drew was pooped on twice by birds. Hee Hee.
We ended our trip with a Grand Canyon Route return. It was Drew's and the kiddos first time seeing it. Unfortuantely, it was blizzard like conditions for the majority of the time. They were able to see a couple over looking points until it was white out conditions.
We are home now and loving sleeping in our own beds, but are really missing the pool and Grandma, Grandpa, and Mickey!
